Basketball teaches teamwork and skills of the game in five-per-side team competition. Teams are grouped in divisions according to the athletes' ability levels.

 

Athletes can also compete in individual skills contests. These events are designed for the lower ability athletes.

The following events provide meaningful competition for athletes with lower ability levels:

• Target pass

• 10-metre dribble

• Spot shot

• Speed dribble
